Event: Heavy rain country-wide; U.S. Embassy closure for Thursday November 21, 2019, possibly into the weekend.
Djibouti is experiencing heavy rainfall throughout the country. Due to flooding and a power outage, the U.S. Embassy will be shut down for the remainder of Thursday, November 21st, 2019, possibly into the weekend. Expect heavy rains and strong winds with possible flooding, landslides, power outages and difficult travel conditions throughout the country.

Actions to Take:

  • Avoid travel until the storm has dissipated.
  • Monitor the local news for updates.
  • Seek secure shelter.
