U.S. Medical Supply Donation
On May 4, 2021 the United States delivered essential medical equipment to the Ministry of Health to support the Government of Djibouti’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. U.S. Ambassador to Djibouti Jonathan Pratt handed over the supplies and reiterated the readiness of the U.S. government to partner with Djibouti in fighting and preventing COVID-19. U.S. military forces stationed at Camp Lemonnier facilitated the procurement and transfer of the supplies.
In response to the COVID-19 global pandemic, the United States is supporting vaccine access worldwide and boosting global pandemic preparedness. The U.S. congress recently approved $11 billion to improve access to safe, effective, and lifesaving vaccines and to help countries to fight the secondary impacts of the pandemic.
