Djibouti – His Excellency the Ambassador of the United States of America in Djibouti, Mr. Thomas P. Kelly, gave a total of over 35,000 American dollars (6,195.000 million Francs DJ) to four associations on Tuesday September 20 at 10:00 in the premises of the Embassy of the United States of America to Haramous.
This year’s recipients are: Caritas, the Wilsan association, the association of self-help and bienfaisances of Tadjourah Region Handicapped, the Association for Agro-Pastoral Development Abaittou
In the same context, the funds for the refugees ‘Julia Taft‘ in partnership with the Embassy of USA in Djibouti, was signed at the same time.
This year, the fund is attributed to the Norwegian Council for Refugees (NRC) to develop computer training for refugees in the camp of Ali Adde. The amount of the project was 25,000 US dollars (4,425.000 million Djibouti francs).
These projects are funded through the Self-Help Fund (Self Help) Embassy that brings every year, support for small most dynamic projects in their respective fields of action. The Self Help Fund of the Embassy of the United States of America is to contribute to the economic development of communities through financial support to small community development projects whose main objective is to support civil society s’ self-sufficient. The themes of these projects cover a wide spectrum of community interventions.
